Heating Plant Inspections
NYC Department of Buildings Local Law 62 of 1991
If you are the owner of a commercial building, mixed use, or a private house (six-family or greater) within New York City's five boroughs, then your low pressure boiler must be inspected annually. The inspection must be filed no later than November 15th of each calendar year, and any and all repairs must be completed by end of calendar year. The building owner must ensure that this inspection is performed, or face fines of up to $1,500. This inspection is required regardless of whether you use gas or oil heat.
